Easter at the Mill 2017

There’s nothing like family time TRADITIONS to center the soul. We are so fortunate to have time at the holiday’s to do just that. Our family celebrates at Dells Mill in Augusta, Wisconsin. Its’ one of Wisconsin’s most photographed places…and you can see here why. In fact – many couples have had their engagement pictures taken here – including myself and my husband nearly 9 years ago! It’s quite simply, amazing. I am so grateful that we are able to spend time here every Easter. One of the Clark “double-cousins”, Gus Clark, lived here and ran the museum at Dells Mill for a half-century before he passed in the fall of 2014. We sure do miss you Gus! “You were the Mill…”

The celebration begins with a gigantic potluck meal at Aunt Jan and Uncle John’s house. They are the most gracious and hospitable people on the planet, hosting up to 50 people each year. It ends in a HUGE hunt for Easter Bags – filled with chocolates, peanuts, and all kinds of yummy treats. It’s pretty fun, and there are members of my husband’s family who are VERY good at hiding the bags! (including said husband…) The best part of it all is just spending time with family – catching up on their lives & their families, and just seeing everyone smiling all day long. Happy Easter 2017 to the entire Clark extended Family. Special thanks to Nancy Scobie, for making this blessed event at the Mill possible.  It is so incredibly precious, and we all cherish this tradition more than words can express!
